YOLO

You only live Once - Move to Pacific City

YOLO
YOLO is a collection of poems put together by Crystal Thune and her grandmother Elizabeth Thune. Their work spans generations and penetrates the soul by evoking true, heart-felt emotions. With the underlying theme, You Only Live Once, readers travel through a layered mind maze where their experiences within and exit out are unique. YOLO is about following one's intuition and believing that somehow, someway everything will turn out ok. No matter how many obstacles life produces the message remains: You Only Live Once. So judge this book by its cover. Read through it as you please. Share it with family or friends in need because in the end there's only one life to lead. YOLO.

Yolo County, California
Yolo County, California OLO COUNTY, California, possessing wondrous wealth in the fertility of its soil, glorious climate and advantageous location, extends an invitation to all persons weary of drudgery and dreary days; who are tired of the struggle with storms and snow; who are cruelly cooped up in cities; who seek success; who, having dreamed of a home, want more than visionary happiness; who are patriotic and progressive; who love peace and desire plenty and prosperity. To such as these Yolo County holds forth a promise that may be fulfilled in rich rewards. Yolo County is not being boomed. There is no inflated bubble to burst. The certain and steady growth of the county in recent years is due solely to its marvelous attractiveness, and the only reason that it is not more populous is because large tracts of land had been held for half a century in comparatively few ownerships. Surely soil could not be more productive than indicated by the following excerpt taken from a report issued by the United States Department of A griculture: It is ideal grain, alfalfa and fruit land. You may find growing on this soil wheat, corn, barley, oats, alfalfa, all the vegetables of a temperate and subtropical climate, apples, apricots, nectarines, plums, pears, prunes, oranges, lemons, limes, figs, pomegranates, grapes (table, wine and raisin), almonds, olives, English walnuts, berries of all kinds and melons. And since climate is an essential asset in fact, the working capital of the farmer it is well to cite at the outset the same government authority, as follows: The climatic conditions in general are favorable to the production of grain and other crops, the early ripening and coloring of fruits and the open-air curing of dried fruits. The dry air of the summer and late spring makes the region comparatively free from certain insect and fungus troubles affecting the fruit.

Yolo: A Story
Every woman is Yolo! Yolo is every woman! …if only she could “grab and slip and jump and flip” without fear of failure then Yolo could fight off the Watifs and move forward in life. Yolo soon learns that standing still is the only failure; and so will you. Imagine that you are a little monkey in a perch high above the jungle floor and before you lies a network of vines that could take you to your future. Each vine an opportunity and each vine a risk. There is just one issue; you are afraid to jump; the risk seems daunting. If you jump, you could fall; if you climb down the predators on the ground would surely get you; if you don’t move, food will run out and you will starve. You have no choice. You must jump; you must swing; you must move forward. But… What if you fall? What if you jump and miss? What if the vine does not support you? What if you chose the wrong path? What if you grab too many? What if you grab the wrong one?" YOLO is a simple parable that dares you to look closer at the little flutters of thought that creep in and keep you from moving forward. It is an intriguing and enlightening story of a little spider monkey, Yolo, who lives in her perch high atop the jungle floor and attempts to find happiness and success without ever taking a risk. In the story, Yolo is faced with the same unexpected changes and challenges that we all deal with in life including love, loss, family, abandonment, depression, and success. You can discover for yourself how to recognize when you are creating your own barriers that are holding you back; how to select a path in life; and how to move forward towards your goals. YOLO reminds you that you only have one life to live. Life creates its own set of barriers, so let’s not create them ourselves. At the end of the day, the worst thing that you can do is not move at all. Start moving; Keep moving; You only live once! Yolo.
