Bob Straub State Park
Bob Straub Park is Pacific City's pride and joy. It is located
on the spit created by the Big Nestucca River and is home to many species
of wildlife. It has trails for hiking and horses and is our southernmost
beach access. It has a large paved parking lot, picnic tables, and
ADA restrooms (but is not the best beach access for the handicapped due
to climbing the dune). It is open year around and is free to the
public for day use only.
Call 800-551-6949 for more info.
Cape Kiwanda State Park
Cape Kiwanda is the southernmost cape of the 3 capes scenic drive.
It is the smallest of the 3 capes, but offers the most diverse day usage.
Besides the view on the peninsula, it offers a huge dune for climbing,
jumping, and hang gliding. It is also home to the pristine Kiwanda Marine
Gardens with tidal pools and marine creatures.
It is easy to find... just look for the "rock"...
