The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department states that if you bring a dog to the beach, you are
responsible for the animal's behavior.
A visitor to our website uses the Pacific City beach
on a regular basis and also owns a dog. She says her family uses the following guidelines when they
bring their dog to the beach.
We exercise direct control over the dog at all times.
We always keep the dog within unobstructed sight.
We always carry a leash and promptly leash the dog if asked to do so by anyone.
We always prevent the dog from harassing people, wildlife and other domestic animals.
We always ensure that the dog is not hitched or confined in a manner that may cause
damage to any natural resources on the ocean shore.
We always remove animal waste.
Those sound like good guidelines to us!
