The Final Annual Garden Tea
Through the Garden Gate - The Transformation of a 24 year Event
|
Pat Sears' graceful seaside garden overlooking the beach at Tierra del
Mar will host its 18th and last Garden Tea sponsored by the Esther Milne
Living Memorial. As we walk together Through the Garden Gate, we look
forward to a new plan for the Esther Milne Living Memorial. An endowment
scholarship has been established at the Tillamook Bay Community College.
Proceeds and donations from the tea will strengthen this endowment and
its continuing financial assistance to women.
The Memorial committee was organized in 1988 and has been actively
raising funds for scholarships given in memory of Esther Milne, a loved
and respected resident of Pacifc City. Esther was always ready with
encouragement and support, especially for women striving to improve the
lives of their families and themselves. Over the past 24 years, 143
scholarships and 8 donations to youth groups have been awarded for a
total of $60,598. Community donations that make this support possible
have been greatly appreciated. This year's tea will be a celebration and
acknowledgement of all that has been accomplished.
The Garden Tea will feature artwork for sale by local artists and fresh
vegetables from an all-natural farm. Gary Burman will be performing with
his bagpipes, whistle and guitar, accompanied by vocalist, Nora. Friends
and members of the The Esther Milne Living Memorial committee look
forward to celebrating this walk Through the Garden Gate Saturday July

Road, Cloverdale) will be marked with flag and sign.Parking assistance
